With the federal-state program for the promotion of young academics, the tenure-track professorship is being widely established at universities in Germany for the first time.

When you are appointed to a junior professorship or a fixed-term W2 university professorship, you receive a binding commitment that you will be offered a permanent university professorship following a successful tenure evaluation. The evaluation criteria are clearly defined at the time of appointment to the tenure-track professorship.
