A wide range of mental disorders and problems can be treated at the University of Siegen's Psychotherapeutic Outpatient Clinic. These include, for example
- Depression and bipolar disorders
- Anxiety, e.g. panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social phobias, specific phobias, test anxiety
- compulsions
- Personality disorders
- Acute stress and post-traumatic stress disorders
- Eating disorders
- Somatoform disorders

- Impulse control disorders
Mental disorders that require inpatient or day-care treatment cannot be treated in the Psychotherapeutic University Outpatient Clinic.

The Psychotherapeutic University Outpatient Clinic offers treatment from kindergarten age to adulthood. We treat all mental disorders and problems. These include, for example
- Severe anxiety (e.g. panic attacks, anxiety with peers, adults, school and exam anxiety, fears of animals or illnesses)
- Mood problems (e.g. sadness, loneliness, listlessness or low self-esteem)
- Eating disorders (e.g. significant underweight, vomiting, overweight or conspicuous eating behavior)
- Enuresis or defecation

Concentration problems, severe restlessness and impulsivity (ADHD)
- Defiant or aggressive behavior
- Problems, anger and anxiety with peers
- Agonizing recurring thoughts and rituals (compulsions)
- Sudden twitching (e.g. in the face) or vocalizations (e.g. clearing the throat)
- Stress reactions after a traumatic experience
- Sleep disorders
Mental disorders that require inpatient or day-care treatment cannot be treated in the Psychotherapeutic University Outpatient Clinic.

The Psychotherapeutic Outpatient Clinic of the University of Siegen offers various psychotherapeutic services.
- Comprehensive diagnostics: We offer detailed clinical-psychological diagnostics. In addition to the diagnosis, this includes the clarification of individual treatment needs with appropriate recommendations. Depending on your needs, we can support you in your search for further treatment or offer you a brief psychotherapeutic intervention.
- Individual and group therapy: In addition, the Psychotherapeutic University Outpatient Clinic at the University of Siegen offers outpatient psychotherapy as individual therapy and/or group therapy. Find out more about the differences between the two therapy settings

which are offered under the corresponding menu items. - Participation in research studies: As a university and research outpatient clinic, we are also interested in the continuous improvement of existing therapy methods and the development of new approaches. If you fulfill the requirements for clinical research projects, you can register as a participant. In this way, you can benefit from new developments in psychotherapy and play an active role in improving the treatment of mental illness.
