The University of Siegen Big Band now looks back on a tradition spanning nearly 30 years. The ensemble rehearses pieces—including large-scale works—from various stylistic eras of jazz and performs them in regular concerts. In addition to solo performances, the band also collaborates with other ensembles, such as the uniChor Siegen or vocal and instrumental soloists.Martin Reuthner has been the conductor of the University of Siegen Big Band since the summer semester of 2010.
