Vacation care
To improve the compatibility of work or studies and family, the University of Siegen has been offering vacation childcare for the children of students and employees since the summer semester of 2008 - a further measure as part of the implementation of the target agreements of the "audit familiengerechte hochschule".
With efforts to take into account the vacations of the neighboring federal states of Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, the autumn holiday care was offered for two weeks for the first time in 2016. In 2017, Easter holiday childcare was offered for the first time and in 2018, Whitsun holiday childcare was offered for the first time as part of the Whitsun vacations in NRW.

During these periods, school children aged 6 to 14 years can be looked after from Monday to Friday on a weekly or daily basis from 7:45 am to 4:00 pm or half-day until 1:30 pm. The program will include many varied, age-appropriate, creative and exciting activities. Thanks to the cooperation with the individual subjects and facilities of the university as well as external freelancers, numerous exciting workshops are made possible every year. There are also sports, games and fun as well as a hot lunch every day.
