About the Chair
At the Chair of Economics, with a particular focus on public finance and European issues, we address economic policy questions in the fields of public finance and European integration. In doing so, we employ both theoretical and empirical research designs. We place particular emphasis on efficiency and incidence aspects of tax policy, the private provision of public goods, fiscal federalism and regional economics, as well as environmental and resource economics.
Teaching
The Chair offers a range of courses in public finance. In addition, the curriculum covers European integration, social policy, policy evaluation, and environmental and resource economics. Adjunct lecturers complement the program with specialized courses. Students can find the current courses as well as all further information and materials in Unisono. The Examination Office also publishes long-term course planning, which allows students to view the expected courses of all economics chairs for the upcoming semesters.
