Why study social sciences?
The term “social sciences” itself makes it clear that there is no single social science. Rather, as a student, you will engage with three academic disciplines that are united by a common field of study. The curriculum covers topics from the fields of sociology, political science, and economics.
If you study social sciences as a major for teacher certification at the University of Siegen, you can expect an intensive, varied, and exciting program that provides a broad foundation of subject-specific and pedagogical knowledge while also offering opportunities to set individual academic priorities. However, only at the University of Siegen do you have the opportunity to focus on economics in your training.
The topics covered in the courses are diverse and varied, and are based on the latest research approaches. The Social Sciences program can be combined with other disciplines in a variety of ways.
