Q-Exam

E-assessment - digital testing

As an online examination instance, Q-Exam enables digital synchronous examinations to be carried out.

The University of Siegen uses the Q-Examiner® examination software from the Q-Exam® product family to conduct summative examinations.

The offer extends to the legally compliant implementation of electronic examinations with both small and large numbers of participants as well as comprehensive didactic, organizational and technical advice from ZIMT and ZFH in combination with the implementation of electronic examinations in rooms PB-C 101 (auditorium) and H-D 2202 (PC pool).

Further information

  1. Registration for a Q-Exam face-to-faceexamination:
Requests for Q-Exam face-to-face examinations are first made via a
    room request with unisono.
During the lecture-free period, the room PB-C 101
is available from Monday to Friday from 9:00 - 12:00 and from 14:00 - 18:00.
  2. Feedback from the E-Assessment team:
After submitting your room request, you will receive feedback from the E-Assessment team
via unisono about whether your room request has been accepted or rejected.
  3. Sendimportant information about the exam by e-mail:
Following an accepted room request, please send the maximum number of participants and any special features (compensation for disadvantages, etc.) by e-mail to: e-assessment@uni-siegen.de

  1. Registration for a Q-Exam online examination:
Requests for a Q-Exam online examination should be sent by e-mail to:
    e-assessment@uni-siegen.de
Please send a request for an online examination with all important information about the examination to the E-Assessment team by e-mail.
Please attach a table with the following
    required information (in separate columns):
    • Title of the course
    • Requested date
    • Start time
    • Duration
    • Maximum number of participants expected

  2. Feedback from the e-assessment team:
Once your request for an online exam has been processed, you will receive feedback from the e-assessment team regarding the further course of the exam creation.
  • Examcreation
Once an exam date has been agreed, the content of the exam can be created. This requires a Q-Exam account for teachers. New users (lecturers) must apply for Q-Exam access once informally at:
    e-assessment@uni-siegen.de
  • Conducting examinations
The teachers responsible for the examinations must provide their own invigilators during the examinations. The e-assessment team can only provide support for technical and organizational questions.
  • Login page Q-Exam (for lecturers - VPN connection to the university network is required everywhere!):
    https://qonline.uni-siegen.de (for lecturers)
  • Q-Exam instructions (for lecturers - creation of questions etc.):
    Q-Exammanual
  • After the exam
The exam results can be viewed by the responsible lecturers in the Q-Exam system no later than one day after the exam, under the following path in the Q-Exam system:
"Exam overview"->"The respective exam"->"Exam settings"->"Results" tab at the top right. Select the desired formats for export there.
  • Generating the grade lists
After an exam has been completed, the results and the list of participants (.xls format, as exported from unisono) must be merged. Under "Exam overview"->"The respective exam"->"Exam settings", an upload option appears after the exam has been completed. Upload the .xls participant list there. The system then returns a combined list containing the assigned grades. This can then be used to upload for unisono etc.

  1. Registration for exams is done regularly via unisono.
  2. You can check your registration status (i.e. "Has my unisono registration been transferred to the examination system") here: Check registration status
    - Please note that it is normal that the registration status can only be displayed correctly immediately before the start of the exam.
  3. Online exams (remote, from home, on your own device - VPN connection to the university network is required!) via link to the exam.
  4. You can access the IQUL mock exam to demonstrate the different question types directly via the following link: Demo exam.
