Flu (Influenza)
The Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) recommends an annual flu vaccine for anyone at increased risk of developing a particularly severe case of the flu.
This includes people aged 60 and older, people of any age with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, and residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities.
The flu vaccine also protects people who are at increased risk of infection because they come into contact with many people (e.g., healthcare workers, people in facilities with heavy public traffic).
