Why political education work is not 'more than (extremism) prevention'?

As part of the CICS Lectures, Prof. Dr. Julika Bürgin from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences will give a lecture entitled "Why political education work is not 'more than (extremism) prevention'?". Julika Bürgin researches and publishes on political education, social work and the social and political implications of preventing extremism. The lecture series is organized by the Center for interdisciplinary Crime Studies (CICS) at the University of Siegen and is taking place for the first time in cooperation with POLIS - the Center for Political and Sociological Education at the Department of Social Sciences. The lecture, jointly organized by CiCS and POLIS, will focus in particular on a critical perspective on the prevention of extremism in the field of tension between security policy, political education and social science research.
