Module 1 – Introduction to Medical Informatics
Part of the "Medical Informatics" continuing education course for physicians
Course Content
The course content is based on the textbook “Medical Informatics” published by the German Medical Association.
Topics covered in this module include: components of an IT infrastructure, an introduction to software development and database integration, data extraction and transformation, and the development of Python classes.

Scope
The module consists of 30 teaching units. There will be three online seminars (Nov. 4, 11, and 18), followed by two in-person sessions in Siegen (Nov. 24 and 25). To prepare, you can work through the e-learning content on Moodle. At the end, there will be a multiple-choice exam.

Medical Informatics
At the University of Siegen, you can complete the continuing education program, which consists of a total of 10 modules (240-hour workload). All modules are offered annually, and you can begin with any module.
