Welcome to the website of the Chair of Social and Economic Psychology
Social and economic psychology examines the mutual influence of people in social and economic contexts. It explains, describes and predicts these processes with the help of emotional, cognitive and biological mechanisms. Social and business psychology at the University of Siegen combines basic research and practical application in the fields of social, work, organizational and business psychology.
About our working group
What we are about
In the tradition of Kurt Lewin, we understand behavior as the result of person and situation. A central concern of our working group is to make visible the often underestimated power of the situation in professional and everyday life.
In research and teaching, we combine social psychological as well as work and organizational psychological perspectives in order to describe, explain and predict experience and behaviour in organizations and in everyday life. We are guided by our conviction: There is nothing more practical than a good theory.
Our research profile
Our research is broad-based and combines social-psychological as well as work and organizational-psychological perspectives.
We study human experience and behaviour in social, organizational and media contexts from a theoretical and application-oriented perspective.
