Equality Quota

Under Section 37a of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (HG NRW), universities in North Rhine-Westphalia are required to set a gender equality quota to increase the proportion of women in professorial positions. The quota is determined on a discipline-specific basis using the cascade model for a specified period, typically three years.
