In January 2024, the Institute of Music adopted a concept paper with the aim of reforming music teacher training in Siegen by 2030 and expanding the music course portfolio on the basis of the existing artistic and academic quality. The basis for entering this process are the good conditions that have existed for decades in the artistic-practical area and music theory as well as the academic disciplines of musicology and music education, which are highly visible through research projects and publications.
