Ms. Kurz has been a PhD student at the Chair of Management, Accounting and Corporate Governance since April 2024 with a research focus on ESG, in particular the compliance of ESG investments in international markets. She holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration with a focus on Auditing and Controlling and an M.Sc. in Accounting, Auditing and Taxation from the University of Siegen. During her bachelor studies, Ms. Kurz spent a semester abroad at the University of Orléans in France.

In addition to her studies, Ms. Kurz gained practical experience as an intern at MLP Finanzberatung SE in Siegen and Aegon Ltd. in Frankfurt am Main. She then worked for three years as a student assistant in the Assurance Services and Tax department at KPMG in Cologne. She also worked as a student assistant and tutor at the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Accounting and Corporate Governance at the University of Siegen.

After graduating, she worked for three years as an audit assistant at KPMG - Financial Services Attestation, a company specializing in financial instruments. In addition to her research activities, Ms. Kurz holds a leading position in the auditing department of PKF Fasselt Partnerschaft mbB in Cologne.
