Dr. Michael Troilo is an Ordinary Professor of Strategy, Management, and Operations in the Busch School of Business at the Catholic University of America.  From 2010, he has been a consultant to the United Nations ESCAP, the International Labour Organization, the Asian Development Bank, and the Legatum Institute, a London-based think tank dedicated to poverty eradication.  A Fulbright Scholar, he has published nearly seventy academic articles, chapters, and books. He received the 2026 CUA Busch School of Business Excellence in Research Award.

Michael held a variety of accounting and finance positions before academe.  He was a senior auditor for Arthur Andersen LLP and a cost accountant and pricing analyst for IBM Microelectronics Division.  He also served as a senior financial analyst for a British company investing in high-tech new ventures and as a controller for an Internet start-up.

Professor Troilo holds a Ph.D. in business economics and international business from the University of Michigan, an MBA and an MA in East Asian Studies from the University of Virginia, and a BBA in accounting from the College of William and Mary.  He is a licensed CPA in Virginia.
