ASAAP Project Meeting May 13, 2026

At the ASAAP project meeting on May 13, 2026, at the Speira Rheinwerk in Neuss, the project partners gathered to discuss the current status of the work and coordinate the next steps. The focus was on the processing and characterization of recycled aluminum alloys and their importance for sustainable aluminum cycles.

ASAAP Project Meeting at Speira Rheinwerk in Neuss

On May 13, 2026, the project meeting for the ERDF project ASAAP—Advancing Sustainable Aluminum by Adaptive Processing— took place at Speira Rheinwerk in Neuss. The meeting focused on the current status of the project, initial results from the participating work packages, and coordination of the next steps.

Particular emphasis was placed on the further development of the digital process chain and on homogenization annealing, in which the Chair of Materials Science and Testing plays a key role. Together with the project partners, current approaches were discussed, open questions were addressed, and the next steps for the experimental and digital advancement of the project were defined.

The meeting was rounded out by a plant tour of Rheinwerk Neuss and a visit to the UBC recycling facility.
