Comenius Funding Strengthens International Networking and Opens Up New Perspectives for Research

Ōtautahi Christchurch (New Zealand)

With the Comenius International Partnership Program, the University of Siegen supports international networking. Vera Fahrner has successfully applied for funding under this programme. This enables her to present her research findings in November at the SASP (Society of Australasian Social Psychologists) conference in Ōtautahi Christchurch (New Zealand). The funding also allows a short visit to the University of Queensland (UQ, Brisbane) to further a university partnership. We are delighted for Vera and look forward to hearing about her insights from the exchange!

About the Person

Vera Fahrner

In her doctoral dissertation,Vera Fahrner examines the attitudes—or “mental models”—that potential future users hold regarding renewable fuels. In this context, the inclusion of political and environmental attitudes is particularly crucial, in addition to personality traits. In her dissertation, she first focuses on developing a measurement tool to assess mental models in passenger and commercial transportation. The goal is to subsequently use this tool to determine which components of a mental model can be altered through interventions that vary across individuals within an experience sampling design.
