IMPULS - the new funding program of the University of Siegen
The previous program HIFF (Hochschulinterne Forschungsförderung) is now part of the new program IMPULS. With the new IMPULS funding program, the University of Siegen is expanding its internal funding offer for research funding.
Starting this year, several new funding lines will be launched, which are aimed at researchers at all career levels and support the development of innovative research ideas, the preparation of competitive third-party funding applications and scientific networking.
New funding lines will be published gradually over the course of the year. The following programs are currently planned for 2026
- Individual Research Fund: start-up funding for the submission of individual third-party funding applications
- ERC Success Fund: Support for the optimization and resubmission of ERC applications
- Collaborative Research Fund - Seed Fund: start-up funding for the preparation of interdisciplinary, coordinated pilot and collaborative projects
- Collaborative Research Fund - Proposal Fund: Support for the concrete preparation of coordinated collaborative proposals (SFB/TRR, RTG, FOR, SPP, EU, federal and state projects or foundation projects)
- Junior Research Group Fund: Funds for the preparation of junior research group proposals in competitive, quality-oriented third-party funding programs
- Comenius International Partnership Program -INCOMING: Increase in funding for incoming mobility formats for international guest researchers
- Internal university support for conference travel for doctoral candidates: Support for conference participation by doctoral students with their own academic contribution
