The topic was "The use of artificial intelligence in industry and trade - how can synergies between science and practice be used?" He took the opportunity to draw attention to the positive experiences that our chair has had as a project partner in the "Smart Services Competence Center" in Baden-Württemberg. As part of this project, many small and medium-sized enterprises as well as numerous craft businesses have already been introduced to digitalization and the use of AI with low-threshold information and support services. As the event also served as the kick-off for a regional project, Minister Ina Brandes was also a guest in the afternoon. She took a lot of time to find out about various AI offerings for smaller companies. Prof. Strina also had the opportunity to tell the Minister about corresponding activities at the University of Siegen (e.g. the MDZ Ländliche Region). He was also able to introduce her to the idea of possibly setting up a competence center similar to the one in Baden-Württemberg for North Rhine-Westphalia.
