At this year's DGfP annual conference in Freiburg, Christoph Strünck was elected as the new chairman.

At the annual conference of the German Political Science Association in Freiburg, Christoph Strünck was elected as the new chairman. He has been Professor of Political Science with a focus on social policy in the Department of Social Sciences at the Faculty I: Faculty of Arts and Humanities since 2009. Christoph Strünck is looking forward to his new role: "The DGfP is a specialist society that goes beyond specialization and still has a sense for the major and relevant issues of our discipline. It's fun to bring the members together and discuss them with each other". Since September, the DGfP office at the University of Siegen has been headed by Sven Rader, who is a research assistant at the professorship. Alongside the German Political Science Association (DVPW), the DGfP is involved in proposing peer reviewers for the DFG and issuing official statements on matters relating to the discipline. The DGfP also publishes an important specialist journal, the Zeitschrift für Politikwissenschaft.
