Dr. Philipp Köhn and Katharina Fiebig represented our chair at the 2026 SPGC–FERC Global Family Business Summit in Nice. This year’s conference at the IPAG Business School on the Côte d’Azur was a special event—for the first time, the STEP Project Global Consortium (SPGC) and the Family Enterprise Research Conference (FERC) joined forces for a joint summit on international family business research.

From May 26 to 29, scholars from around the world gathered to discuss stability, change, and innovation in family businesses under the theme “(In)Stability at the Frontiers.” Right in the thick of it: Philipp and Katharina, who presented their current research and engaged in professional exchanges with the international community.

In addition to the valuable substantive insights, the conference was, of course, also a great opportunity to nurture existing contacts and initiate new collaborations—entirely in the spirit of our research focus on family-run SMEs.
