When Teaching Meets Research: Entrepreneurship, Social Media, and Well-Being
In our seminar, we combined teaching and research and, together with our students, carried out a real-world research project on entrepreneurship, social media, and social comparison processes. To what extent do social comparisons on social media actually influence entrepreneurs’ well-being? This is a question we explored in depth this semester.
A particular highlight was our joint experiment, in which we were able to capture real-time reactions using eye-tracking and emotion-measurement technology.
We’d like to take this opportunity to extend a huge thank you to Verena Liszt-Rohlf—not only for the wonderful collaboration and our shared mission to place a stronger focus on the connection between teaching and research, but also for her expertise in eye-tracking, which made this project possible in the first place.
Of course, a heartfelt thank you also goes to our students! For your openness, your active participation, and for wanting to be part of this research project.
Moments like these show once again just how enriching it is when teaching and research go hand in hand!
