About 230 researchers and other stakeholders gathered at the University of Siegen for the 4th Congress on Participation Research. Together, they discussed the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the local level.

The University of Siegen is expanding its services for people with dementia and their families: Effective immediately, people with dementia in the Olpe area can also participate in the ongoing “DECIDE-2” dementia support project.

As the cold season sets in, the risk of catching the flu increases. The University of Siegen is therefore offering its employees on-site flu vaccinations to both support and protect them.

Computer scientist Dr. Md Shajalal and his co-authors were honored with the Best Paper Award at HCI International 2026. The award recognized their work on human-centered explanations for the detection of audio deepfakes.

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia honors Arndt G. Kirchhoff for his outstanding service to the public good. Kirchhoff has been a member of the University of Siegen’s University Council since 2013 and served as its chair for ten years.
