AI Future Center NRW

The Zukunftszentrum KI NRW supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and their employees in effectively integrating artificial intelligence and digital technologies into their daily work. The University of Siegen provides technology-focused and human-centered consulting: Together with companies, it analyzes specific applications of AI and supports their implementation. In addition, practical training and continuing education programs are offered to help employees develop the skills needed to work with AI. Particular emphasis is placed on a participatory approach that involves company management, works councils, and employees alike.

ZZKI

Project Description

Through an intensive consulting engagement, the Zukunftszentrum KI NRW supported Robert GmbH (Exact Colours) in developing a machine learning (ML) model that automatically predicts suitable color pigments and their proportions for a color mixture based on measured reflectance curves. To achieve this, existing company data was analyzed and cleaned, and various models were trained and tested using machine learning methods. A final live test with previously unknown colors demonstrated that the AI can successfully apply the knowledge it has learned to new cases, thereby significantly reducing the workload—particularly for newcomers, but also for experienced professionals.
