We currently offer three different scholarship programs:
- Summer School Grants for students of the University of Siegen participating in a summer/winter school or excursion abroad
- Student Scholarships for international exchange students from abroad

Summer/Winter School Grant
Who: Students enrolled at the University of Siegen who are participating in a summer/winter school or excursion abroad
How much: one-off € 500 for programs in Europe or € 1,000 for programs outside Europe
What: current certificate of study, transcript of records, letter of motivation, letter of acceptance from the host institution (incl. statement of costs), copy of German identity card or residence permit
When: March 15 to April 30, 2026
How: Register with Santander Open Academy

Your Way to Siegen Student Scholarship
Who: international exchange students
How much: either €500 or €1,000 one-off
Why: Support for academic mobility at the University of Siegen
What: Letter of motivation, transcript of records from your home university, certificate of study from the University of Siegen

Your Way to Siegen Research Grant for PhD Students
Who: international PhD students
How much: €1,000 for at least 2 weeks research stay in Siegen
Why: Cooperation with a scientist at the University of Siegen
What: Invitation host, letter of motivation, research project, schedule, CV, MA certificate and list of publications
When: Application possible on an ongoing basis for stay in 2026
