A video conferencing system enables several people to communicate with each other in real time via the internet using video and audio. It can be used for meetings, training courses, customer discussions or even virtual events - in other words, wherever personal presence is not necessary or not possible.
Two systems are currently in use at the University of Siegen:
Webex
Webex (Cisco Systems) is the central suite for video conferencing, online meetings, webinars, file sharing and team collaboration. This is administered by ZIMT.
DFNconf
DFNconf of the German Research Network (DFN) allows smaller video conferences to be held
