Student Voices: Insights into the Dual Study degree in Computer Science
Close integration of theory and practice.
Choosing the dual Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Siegen allowed me to remain in the region while combining my studies with hands-on experience at a local company. From the first semesters, the close integration of coursework and professional practice created clear connections that enriched my learning throughout the program. I especially valued the opportunity to complete applied modules within the company and tailor them to my interests in coordination with my employer. The flexibility to shape my focus—either by specializing or broadening my academic profile—was another key advantage. Coordinating my bachelor’s thesis between the department and the company was straightforward and well supported, enabling me to graduate with confidence. This strong foundation made it easy to transition into my career, and I continue to benefit from the combined academic and industry experience I gained. I would choose this dual degree again without hesitation.
