Students about the civil engineering course

Large selection of possible modules
I deliberately chose the University of Siegen for my Master's degree because Siegen is the greenest city in Germany and offers the ideal balance to everyday university life. The university, accommodation, sports and leisure facilities are all right next to each other here, which creates an ideal basis for successful studies. Looking back, I can see that I made the right choice, not only because of the good support and often emphasized closeness between students and lecturers, which helps anyone who wants to think outside the box. The choice of individual modules and especially the coursework in the Master's degree also allow you to put your own individual stamp on your studies.
But it's not just the academic environment that contributes to a successful degree. For me, it was also the personal experiences on campus, away from the lecture hall. Studying doesn't have to be an isolated individual struggle and anyone who wants to get involved here in any way will certainly meet like-minded people. Last but not least, Siegen offers a wide range of activities and contacts with all the student councils, student initiatives and groups, without which student life would not have been half as much fun. This enjoyment of civil engineering continues for me today in research and teaching and reinforces my conviction that choosing the University of Siegen was and is the right decision.
