Support during the internship semester

This funding is intended to support students who complete their internship semester at a school far away from Siegen due to the online-based allocation of internship semester places. In particular, the resulting additional financial burden is to be alleviated. The number of scholarships is decided annually by the Rectorate depending on the availability of funds.

 

Prerequisite for an application
The prerequisite for applying for funding is

  1. enrolment in a Master's degree program in teaching with the degree "Master of Education" at the University of Siegen,
  2. binding registration for the practical semester in accordance with Section 5 (3) and (4) of the practical semester regulations (AM 19/2022) as amended and assignment to a training school in accordance with Section 5 (6) and (7) of the practical semester regulations, and
  3. the existence of an eligibility criterion pursuant to Section 3 (2):
    The available scholarships are awarded upon application in the following order:
    1. The first students to receive a scholarship are those whose assigned training school is more than one hour away by public transport (one-way to Siegen main station) and who are studying either at least one industrial/technical subject for the teaching degree at vocational colleges (models A, B and C in the non-dual variant), economics for the teaching degree at vocational colleges (models A and B), art as a major subject for the teaching degree at grammar schools and comprehensive schools or music as a major subject for the teaching degree at grammar schools and comprehensive schools.
    2Further scholarships are available to students whose assigned training school is more than one hour's travel time by public transport (one way from Siegen main station) and who have been assigned a second preference, third preference, fourth preference, fifth preference or local point. (Please note: This means that you are not eligible to apply if you have received an allocation according to your first preference).

Funding is awarded on application.

 

Award procedure:
The Center for Teacher Training and Educational Research (ZLB)will check whether the eligibility criteria have been met in accordance with& § 3 (2)andwill notify you in writing of the approval/non-approval of the "scholarship" by the Rectorate without giving any further reasons.


Scope of the grant
The grant is a one-off payment of 750.00 euros. This amount will be paid out in one lump sum promptly at the beginning of the internship semester. An extension is not possible. Proof of completion of the internship semester must be submitted to the ZLB at the end of the semester. If the internship semester is not completed in full within the specified period, the scholarship can be reclaimed on a pro rata basis.

- a printout from PVP (PDF file!) of the document on the binding registration for the internship semester in accordance with Section 5 (4) of the internship semester regulations
- a printout from PVP of the document (PDF file!) on the assignment to a training school in accordance with Section 5 (7) of the internship semester regulations

Applications and documents received after this date cannot be considered!
