Please find out about the current status of your studies as well as your own goals.
The following sources of information are available to you for your own research:

and degree programs - Student advisory service in the teacher training workshop
(in person at the Lernwerkstatt or by e-mail)
Based on your own research, your individual wishes and options, as well as the resulting next steps, can be discussed in a personal meeting.

Study and examination achievements completed in other examination regulations, degree programs and/or at other universities can be credited upon application for the respective subject in the consecutive teacher training program at the University of Siegen, provided equivalence can be established.
Equivalence is established if the coursework and examinations are essentially equivalent in content, scope and requirements to those of the respective subject at the University of Siegen. This is not a schematic comparison, but an overall assessment.
Procedure for the recognition of study and examination achievements
-
The form
Recognition of study and examination credits form is completed and submitted to the relevant academic advisor, including any other documents and information required for recognition. A list of contact persons in the subjects can be found here. Please note that not only certificates, transcripts of records or transcripts of records from the original examination office are relevant for determining the equivalence of study and examination achievements. Examination regulations and module descriptions, as well as other course-related information, can also be helpful in the overall assessment.
-
The Examination Board responsible for the respective subject makes the decision on the recognition of coursework and examinations. To do this, please send the form including the recommendation of the academic advisor as well as copies of certificates/documents from the original examination office or the university to the Central Examination Office for Teaching Qualifications. From there, the documents will be submitted to the Examination Board for a decision. Please create a single PDF document for each subject from the documents in the following order:
- Preliminary classification sheet
- Recommendation for classification
- Preliminary sheet for crediting
- Recognition form
- Performance overview or similar.
- You will receive a notification from the Central Examination Office for Teaching Qualifications. The creditable study and examination achievements will be posted to your student account promptly.
Special information on classifications for lateral entry into a higher semester:
Lateral entry means: you have already completed a larger amount of coursework and examinations at a university in Germany or in another Bachelor's degree program at the University of Siegen, want to have these credited and enter a higher semester in the Bachelor's degree program for the teaching profession at the University of Siegen.
Crediting is carried out in the same way as the crediting procedure described above. In addition, you need the subject's recommendation for placement in a higher semester on the basis of the coursework and examinations to be credited.
As part of the crediting procedure, please submit the form
Placement in the teacher training degree programs. If the coursework and examinations you have already completed can be recognized, the academic advisor will make a recommendation to the relevant Examination Board, which will make the final decision. You will then receive a notification from the Central Examination Office.
Please note that classification is mandatory for enrolment in subjects with restricted admission.
Please also note the deadlines set by the Registrar's Office for enrolment in a higher semester. Once the applicable deadlines have expired, no further placement notifications will be issued.
Further information on deadlines, application procedures and admission restrictions for the individual subjects can be found on the website of the Registrar's Office.
For subjects and degree programs with admission restrictions, you will take part in an application procedure, in all other cases in an enrolment procedure.
You can find further information on both procedures on the pages of the Registrar's Office.
