Application procedure:

The application for a free attempt must be submitted within four weeks of the announcement of the examination result. This deadline is determined by the release date of the assessment in unisono. To apply for a free attempt, please use the form Application for free attempt
and send it fully completed and signed by email to pruefungsamt@zlb.uni-siegen.de.

If deadlines have been set for the completion of coursework and examinations, you can withdraw via unisono up to seven days before the set date. After that, withdrawal from coursework and examinations is only possible for valid reasons (e.g. illness). Withdrawal must be declared to the Central Examination Board for Teaching Qualifications immediately (usually within three working days of the examination date) in writing by e-mail
and must be substantiated by suitable evidence.

Please use the form Withdrawal from examinations form
and attach the relevant evidence of the reason for withdrawal as a PDF. In cases of illness, a doctor's certificate is required. Please send all documents by e-mail
in pdf format to the Examination Office.

Please ensure that the form is completed in full and that all coursework and examinations from which you wish to withdraw are listed!

You can withdraw from coursework or examinations for which no deadlines have been set at any time via unisono.

Withdrawals submitted too late will not be processed and will result in failure of the corresponding coursework.

The Central Examination Board for Teaching Qualifications has decided to no longer allow late registrations of courses after the end of the registration periods from the summer semester 2020.

Students who, due to a disability or chronic illness, are unable to complete coursework and/or examinations in full or in part in the prescribed form and within the prescribed deadlines can apply for compensation for disadvantages via the Central Examination Board for Teaching Qualifications. General information on compensation for disadvantages can be found here:

With the exception of the subjects in the BK Model C teaching degree program, the so-called "pre-study" is possible for all teaching degree programs across all faculties under the following conditions:

Prerequisites:

  • Students must have earned at least 150 credit points across all subjects in their Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 2/3 of the credits must have been passed for the specific subject in which pre-study is to take place.
  • The Bachelor's thesis must have the status "registered" or "passed".
  • Pre-study is limited to a maximum of two semesters.
  • A maximum of 30 credit points can be earned.
  • Excluded from the possibility of pre-study are all achievements in connection with the practical semester, including the preparatory seminars.
  • ADDITIONAL STUDY COURSE Special Educational Support: A total of 2/3 of the achievements from the first Master's degree must have been passed and the practical phase of the internship semester must have been completed.

Important notes:

Irrespective of the above-mentioned formal admission requirements, the basic decision on the admission of students to preliminary studies as well as the possibility of performance lies with the lecturers of the course in question, taking into account the capacities and subject requirements. The basic possibility of pre-study does not give rise to a legal entitlement to course attendance and performance in the Master's degree program. Failed attempts at examinations taken as part of preliminary studies are counted in the Master of Education.

Admission to courses/registration for courses:

If participation in the enrolment procedure is planned for a course, the respective lecturer's approval for the provision of coursework (coursework and/or examinations) is given - as part of the preliminary studies - by admitting the student to the course in question. It is then the student's responsibility to register for the coursework and/or examination during the regular registration period. This registration is made by e-mail to the Central Examination Office for Teaching Qualifications. If no participation in the registration procedure is planned for a course, students are obliged to obtain the lecturer's consent in writing at the beginning of the course and to notify the Central Examination Office for Teaching Qualifications of their consent with a copy to the lecturer within the regular registration period with a request to register for the course(s) in question.

If you wish to register for pre-study within the designated registration period at the Examinations Office by e-mail, please provide us with full details of the course(s):
