Teaching Award of the University of Siegen
The University of Siegen awards the Teaching Prize in recognition of outstanding achievements and special commitment to university teaching. The teaching award is intended to strengthen the quality of teaching as a central feature of the University of Siegen and to make innovative approaches visible. The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros. The prize money is used to further improve teaching at the University of Siegen. The teaching prize is awarded annually, for the first time in 2025.
The prize is awarded to a lecturer or a team for outstanding and innovative contributions in the areas of teaching, examinations, advising and student support.
Nominations can be submitted by all enrolled Bachelor's and Master's students at the University of Siegen. The nomination must be supported by at least ten students. Nominations can relate to individual or several courses and formats of a teacher or teaching team.
Nominations must be submitted by July 30th using the completed nomination form (see below).
The Teaching Prize is awarded by the Commission for Quality Improvement in Teaching and Studies, which is made up of representatives from the groups of students, university lecturers, academic staff and experts in university didactics. The jury assesses the submitted proposals based on the following criteria
