Orientation in the library

The library tour "Orientation in the library" is offered all year round in the Main Library Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) and in the branch libraries Hölderlinstraße (H), Paul-Bonatz-Straße (PB) and Unteres Schloss (US). 
It consists of a presentation part, an exercise part and a tour.
The topics "What does the library offer?", "Information about borrowing" and "From the catalog to the book" are addressed. This is followed by a tour of the university library.

At the beginning of each semester, we offer numerous short tours of the Main Library Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) for first semester students and other interested parties.
In about 20 minutes you will get a first impression of how the library can support you in your studies.

Guided tour for pupils

The guided tour for pupils is offered all year round in the Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) main library. 
It consists of a presentation part in which the topics "What does the library offer?", "Information about borrowing" and "From the catalog to the book" are addressed.

Fit for the "Facharbeit"

Advisory service to support pupils with their "Facharbeit".
A special research consultation and writing advice session for pupils takes place every Wednesday afternoon from 4 - 6 p.m. from November to the beginning of March of the following year.
Possible content/topics may include

  • Answers to questions and assistance with academic research using the University Library's online catalog (Katalog plus) and databases.
  • Support with downloading, scanning or borrowing literature relevant to the subject of the "Facharbeit" from the University Library's collection.
  • Support with interdisciplinary issues relating to the writing process, e.g. formulating a research question during the planning phase, integrating scientific sources into your own text during the formulation phase, checking the line of argumentation during the revision phase, time management, writing and AI, etc.

Electronic reserve collections - Introduction

Advice on setting up electronic reserve collections. The following questions will be addressed:

  • What are the advantages of electronic reserve collections?
  • What literature can be integrated into an electronic reserve collection?
  • What needs to be considered when filling out the web form?
  • How can electronic reserve collections be accessed?
