Salon Diagonal, Oct. 21, starting at 6 p.m.
in cooperation with MGKSiegen
While the MGKSiegen is closed for its expansion project, it is going on tour and relocating its activities to various locations throughout the city and the region. Temporary exhibitions, talks, workshops, and other formats bring art and the collection to life in places where new encounters take place. The focus is on the idea of an open museum that fosters connections and sustainable collaborations.
Barbara Kiolbassa offers insights into her work on the educational program for Skulptur Projekte Münster 2027. How can a major exhibition be connected to a city and its neighborhoods? To this end, the educational program specifically seeks out the intersections between contemporary art, public space, and participation.
Shaping the city together, rather than letting others do it. Since 2019, the Hansaforum der B-Side has been advocating for community-oriented neighborhood development in Münster’s Hansaviertel. Using the specially developed Neighborhood Common Good Index as a foundation, people from the neighborhood have already implemented more than 100 projects. We’ll talk with Leonie Nienhaus about the possibilities and limitations of empowering people to shape their city.
We look forward to an evening exploring art that’s on the move and how participation fosters new relationships between the museum, the city, and its people.
