Introducing the Faculty of Education, Architecture and the Arts

Faculty II offers an interdisciplinary constellation that is unique in the German university landscape: In particular, the social, spatial and art-related interfaces between the work of many academics* have led to an increasingly productive dynamic in research and teaching since 2011. Under its founding motto "Shaping Community", the faculty offers a variety of perspectives on a future to be shaped by humanity along the entire life course.

IZBR "Learning location of the future" competition decided

In September 2025, the Interdisciplinary Center for Educational Spaces (IZBR) at the University of Siegen announced a student competition with the task of creating the educational space of the future using artificial intelligence generators. Students from all over Europe were invited to take part.

New "free attempt regulation" at the University of Siegen applies from the current winter semester

Starting in the current winter semester 2025/26, students at the University of Siegen will be benefiting from a new "free attempt regulation". Failed examinations can now be deleted and repeated to a limited extent.

The Chair of Load-bearing Structures at the University of Siegen has been commissioned to develop multi-pane insulating glass units with bio-based sealants in the edge seal.

Help for older people with depression and anxiety

The University of Siegen and the MSB Medical School Berlin are jointly launching a study on digital group therapy for older people. Senior citizens suffering from depression and anxiety can take part and receive help free of charge.

The UN campaign "Orange the World" has been drawing attention to violence against women and girls since 1991. The University of Siegen is also sending a signal of solidarity with visible signs and events.
