Continuing education and international affairs
One focus of LehramtPLUS is to expand and deepen the media education skills of student teachers. In addition to promoting general media skills, this also includes teaching media didactics and media education knowledge and skills. To this end, regular events and a certificate profile
"Media & Education" are offered.
General media literacyAs a basis for teaching media skills at school, (prospective) teachers should have advanced knowledge and skills in relation to media and media systems. This includes basic political education in relation to democratic societies and the tasks of media, selected aspects of media law, appropriate use of computer and information technologies and critical reflection on media content, media use and media systems. |
Media educationMedia education knowledge and skills are a prerequisite for the targeted use of media in the classroom ("learning with media") and the teaching of media skills to pupils ("learning about media"). To this end, media didactics, media education and relevant aspects of school and lesson development are addressed in the "Media & Education" focus area. |
Projects and events
In addition to the content of the teacher training course, the Center for Teacher Training and Educational Research promotes the media education of student teachers through the following offers:
- As part of LehramtPLUS, there are regular events focusing on "Media & Education". The current dates can be found under Events.
- Specialist days on education in the digital world, for student teachers and (prospective) teachers, more information can be found on the "Media & Education" portal at www.digitale-bildung.uni-siegen.de.
