Start of studies

The Bachelor's degree course in Psychology can only be taken up in the winter semester.
The Bachelor's degree course is - as almost everywhere in Germany - admission-restricted.

Applications from people with a (general or subject-specific) higher education entrance qualification

Applicants for the Bachelor's degree course in Psychology must first register at www.hochschulstart.de. There they receive an applicant ID and an applicant BAN.

An application must then be submitted in Siegen. Until July 15 of the year, applicants with a German (general or subject-specific) university entrance qualification can apply via the online portal
of the University of Siegen.

Applications from persons with professional qualifications

An application as a professionally qualified person is only possible if you do not have a general or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification.

A distinction is made between applicants with advanced training and applicants with other professional qualifications.

Applicants with advanced training (regardless of the subject area, e.g. master craftsmen, technicians, business administrators, state-recognized educators):

• This group of people has direct access to the course and is listed in a separate allocation quota.
• Registration at www.hochschulstart.de
• Application by 15.07. in the online portal
  of the University of Siegen
• No entrance examination. Only written application documents.
• At the end of the application phase, the examination board will draw up a ranking list and allocate places according to the quota. There is no standard NC.

Applicants with other vocational training and 3 years of full-time professional experience:

• Registration by 01.04. at the Registrar's Office
• Entrance examination by 01.06.
• The examination consists of a written and an oral part.
• The result of this examination is also the procedural grade with which the applicants participate in the allocation procedure in the normal performance and waiting time quotas (NC).
• Finally, registration takes place at www.hochschulstart.de
  and in the online portal
  of the University of Siegen.
