Practical semester

Keeping a portfolio is a central component of all practical phases and therefore also a mandatory part of the practical semester.

On the one hand, formal documents (certificates, etc.) are collected in the portfolio, and on the other hand, questions about teaching and school practice, lesson plans and reflections on one's own professional development should be recorded here. The ZLB provides templates and instructions specially developed for the internship semester, which are available in the portfolio folder for the internship semester and in the download area further down on this page. The portfolio also forms the basis for the assessment and perspective discussion.

You can find more detailed information on how to use the portfolio during the internship semester in our guidelines for the internship semester and in the handout on the portfolio practical phases.

Below you will find a template for the outline of your study project:

Project outline:

You can adapt the outline for your study project if necessary. In this case, however, make sure that you design the outline in such a way that the following aspects are clear to your lecturers, the school management and the teachers involved at the school:

a) Your research question,

b) its brief justification,

c) your research methods,

d) the partners involved and

e) your arrangements for the confidential treatment and anonymous presentation of personal data.
