The Faculty III Faculty Council has 3 representatives from the student group.

Right to vote and eligibility

Those members of the student group who are members of the University of Siegen on the day of the announcement of the election and whose participation in elections is not excluded by the Higher Education Act are entitled to vote and eligible for election (see Section 11 (1) No. 4 HG). Each person entitled to vote may only exercise the right to vote and stand for election in one constituency at a time. Membership at the time of the election announcement is decisive for the right to vote. In accordance with Section 5 (5) of the electoral regulations, students are assigned to their faculty of choice according to the information provided when enrolling. In the Faculty Council election, students are assigned to the constituency accordingly. A change of electoral faculty is possible upon application to the Registrar's Office. The change must be made within the objection period by May 29, 2026.

List of eligible voters

Only those who are entered in the list of eligible voters can vote and be elected. The complete list and the election regulations of the University of Siegen (Amtliche Mitteilung 27/2026) can be viewed in the Dean's Administration Office (room US-A 011) from May 13, 2026. The election regulations are also available online(https://www.uni-siegen.de/wahlen). In addition, every person entitled to vote has the opportunity to check his or her eligibility to vote online from May 13, 2026 at the following link(https://www.uni-siegen.de/wahlen/wahlberechtigung). Requests for corrections or additions to the list of eligible voters must be submitted in writing or by simple electronic transmission by email(zentrales.wahlbuero@uni-siegen.de) by May 29, 2026 at the latest and must be substantiated. The applications will be forwarded to the respective election committee, which will decide on them without delay. Once the objection period has expired, objections to the list of eligible voters can no longer be asserted, not even by way of an election challenge.

Election proposals

  1. Eligible voters are requested to submit nominations. Only those who are named as candidates in an election proposal may be elected. Each candidate may only be named in one nomination.
  2. The election proposals (election lists) must be submitted electronically to the election committee(wahlvorstand@wiwi.uni-siegen.de) by May 22, 2026, 3 p.m. at the latest. Only the university e-mail addresses should be used. The respective forms are available on the election page of the Faculty III election page(to be published shortly) and can also be requested from the election committee. The submission should be made exclusively electronically via the person of trust (see point 5) at the election committee (wahlvorstand@wiwi.uni-siegen.de), who must be a university member from the group of students entitled to vote. Only the student's own university e-mail address may be used for submission. Support may be provided on individual forms or in individual e-mails, but must be submitted collectively via the person of trust.
  3. Please note that only nominations submitted by the deadline can be considered. When drawing up lists and candidacies, equal representation of women and men must be ensured. If a gender-balanced list cannot be drawn up despite intensive efforts, a written declaration is required. The written declaration must be attached to the nomination form. In addition, the different Representation of Interests within a group must be taken into account.
  4. In the election to the Faculty Council, each election proposal must be supported by at least two eligible members from the student group. The supporters must state their surname and first name as well as the Faculty or organizational unit. Each person entitled to vote may only support one election proposal. A person entitled to vote may not support their own candidacy. The proposed candidates must belong to the same group and the same constituency as the members submitting the nomination. Each candidate may only be nominated in one election proposal. The nominations must contain the following information about the candidates:

    (a) the surnames, first names and addresses of the candidates,

    b) the name of the institution (Faculty, central institution, administration) to which the candidates belong.

Each nomination must be accompanied by electronically authenticated declarations by the candidates that they agree to their candidacy. This declaration is binding. A corresponding form or suggested text for the email and a form for entering first names can be found on the election page of the committees(https://www.uni-siegen.de/wahlen). The university e-mail address is to be used for sending to the person of trust. The nominations should contain at least as many candidates as there are members to be elected in the respective group; if there are more seats on an election list than this list contains candidates, the surplus seats are allocated to the other election lists of the same group in the same constituency in the order of the maximum numbers.

  1. In the absence of any indication to the contrary on the election proposal, the person named first in the order shall be deemed authorized to represent the election proposal, make statements and receive decisions (person of trust) vis-à-vis the election committee.
