Guidelines for Email Communication
When contacting members of the department by email, please observe the following guidelines:
- Please use your @student.uni-siegen.de email account. This is necessary to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Follow standard conventions of professional communication, including a proper salutation and a closing with your name.

Before sending your email, please check whether the information you are seeking is already available in the provided materials.
Emails that violate any of these rules will be silently ignored and deleted without exception.
Bachelor’s and Master’s Theses
Students interested in writing their thesis at the Chair are invited to apply by email to Prof. Dr. Carsten Hefeker. Places are allocated based on both the timing and the quality of the application and the proposed topic.
Applications should include:
- Preferred start date
- Full contact details (including phone number and email address)
- A 1–2 page proposal outlining the research question, objectives, methodology, and a preliminary structure
- An overview of academic performance (issued by the examination office)

Applicants should have successfully completed courses at the Chair with a grade of at least “good”, as well as a seminar at the Chair.

For Master’s students, at least one successfully completed elective module at the Chair is required.
