Negotiation & Problem Solving
Strengthen your ability to reach agreements and resolve conflicts at work. This module focuses on collaborative communication across departments, managing office politics, and handling complaints. You'll practice persuasive and diplomatic language for proposing solutions, agreeing or disagreeing tactfully, and negotiating compromises. Through realistic role-plays and scenarios, you'll gain practical experience in resolving issues, building cooperation, and maintaining positive working relationships in English.

The interview is the central element of any personnel selection process. This is where it is decided who gets the job. This course is about how to prepare well for the interview. Marcellus Menke, Head of the Career Service at the University of Siegen, introduces the most common elements of the selection interview and shows how to overcome hurdles and pitfalls.

Experience quantum physics up close: From May 22 to 25, 2026 (Pentecost), the 3rd edition of the PenteQost Spring School of Quantum Science will take place at the University of Siegen - in cooperation with the University of Gdansk in Poland. The spring school is an international, interdisciplinary course aimed primarily at Bachelor students. Renowned scientists from all over Europe will introduce the basics of quantum science. Students from all disciplines are welcome to participate through lectures, interactive discussions and group work - prior knowledge of linear algebra and the basics of quantum physics are sufficient as an introduction. Registration is still possible until May 02, 2026.
