Events

For two decades, the University of Siegen has been committed to promoting the compatibility of studies, research, and work with family life and caregiving responsibilities as part of the “audit familiengerechte hochschule.” We are taking this anniversary as an opportunity to look back, celebrate, and ask ourselves together what will define a family-friendly university in the future.

The highlight will be the commemorative event on November 10, 2026. Following an overview of the university’s development into a family-friendly institution, the significance of the “berufundfamilie” audit, and future challenges, Jo Lücke ’s keynote address, “Twenty years ahead - What now? Family-friendliness as a societal task,” will cast its gaze beyond the university and focus on a question that affects us all.

Childcare, hands-on activities, regional information and opportunities for exchange invite university members, families and network partners to join in.

We look forward to celebrating with you and hearing your ideas for the next twenty years.
