Nationwide Funding Opportunities

These opportunities are generally aimed at students throughout the Federal Republic of Germany. Of particular importance are the organisations for the promotion of gifted students (Begabtenförderwerke), which, within the framework of a programme of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, provide funding for students and doctoral candidates. This is mainly done through the award of full scholarships. The programmes differ depending on the scholarship provider and may be politically, denominationally or ideologically independent.

  • Information on the 13 organisations for the promotion of gifted students and valuable application advice can be found on the Stipendium Plus website. Please note the different application deadlines on the respective foundation websites.

There is a suitable organisation for different political views, religious backgrounds and ideological orientations. We are happy to advise you in advance on the most suitable funding organisation for you. We can also establish contact with current scholarship holders and the trust lecturers of the foundations at the University of Siegen, allowing you to obtain first-hand information. Advice and information for students in Bachelor's and Master's programmes is available from the Studienförderfonds Siegen (contact person: Ira Dexling).

A brief overview of the 13 organisations for the promotion of gifted students can be found here (in German). You will also find a list of various scholarship search engines there.
