Start of the BridgeLab teaching module

In the summer semester of 2026, the BridgeLab master's course will be offered for the first time in the master's degree program in Civil Engineering at the University of Siegen. The aim is to offer students a project-oriented learning environment in which current bridge monitoring issues can be addressed in a practical way. In the BridgeLab, students work in teams on realistic tasks to analyze and evaluate bridge structures. Modern methods of digital modeling and structural analysis are used. In addition to specialist content, the focus is on the transfer between university research, practical engineering applications and innovative teaching formats. The course is anchored in the module catalog of the subject examination regulations and is aimed at Master's students with an interest in structural monitoring, infrastructure and digital methods in bridge construction.
