The aptitude and orientation internship as a module element in the degree program

The EOP is embedded in the educational science module "Educational Science Fundamentals" (new regulations from winter semester 2021/22).

The aptitude and orientation internship - aims and significance

The EOP gives you the opportunity to get to know the professional field of school from the perspective of a teacher. On the one hand, you will participate in the organization of lessons by taking on smaller tasks of a teacher. On the other hand, you will practise applying educational theory to everyday school life. This will allow you to gain experience in combining theory and practice at an early stage of your studies.

With the help of your experiences from the EOP, you should also critically re-examine your career aspirations and suitability and think about the structure of your further studies.

The internship school

Before registering, you are responsible for finding a placement school that suits your type of school. Please note that schools at which you yourself were a pupil cannot be selected. If you are studying elementary school with integrated special needs education or secondary school with integrated special needs education, you must complete the EOP at special needs schools or at schools that offer special needs education.

The accompanying seminar

The EOP is always framed by a school-specific accompanying seminar, which is also part of the module. Attendance at the accompanying seminar is compulsory. In this accompanying seminar, you work on an individual research task, which is completed during the EOP and set out in writing in an internship report.

The EOP as a prerequisite for further studies

Enrolment from winter semester 2021/22 (new regulations from winter semester 2021/22): Completion of the module element "Aptitude and Orientation Internship (EOP) incl. accompanying seminar" is an admission requirement for the module "Professional Field Internship (BFP)".
Please bear this in mind when planning your internship. There may be delays if the internship is completed during the lecture-free period of the 3rd semester or later. Also take into account the correction time for the coursework (report) and, if necessary, consult with the lecturer of your accompanying seminar at an early stage.

Thefollowing applies to all students with regard to the Bachelor's thesis: Successful completion of the internships (aptitude and orientation internship and professional internship) is a prerequisite for admission to the Bachelor's thesis. Proof of this can be submitted at a later date until the topic of the Bachelor's thesis is submitted.

Registration

Note: In the Bachelor's degree program for the teaching profession at HRSGe without IFP and GyGe, the procedure for attending the accompanying seminars for the EOP and for registering for the coursework changes.
