The Department of Human-Centered Business Information Systems at the University of Siegen conducts research and teaching on the design, analysis and reflection of digital technologies in economic and social fields of application.
Research focuses on the areas of human-technology interaction, socio-technical systems, sustainability and digital transformation as well as IT-supported innovations in business and society.
Business Information Systems in Siegen is integrated into national and international research networks and pursues an application-oriented, participatory design approach - in close cooperation with companies and civil society actors.
Teaching is project-oriented, research-based and offers early insights into current issues in the digital economy. The Business Information Systems and Human-Computer Interaction degree programs are not only about understanding digital technologies, but also about actively shaping them for a humane and sustainable society.
