Recruiting via SAP SuccessFactors (SF)
As a general rule, all positions to be filled at the University of Siegen must be publicly advertised. We use the SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting (SF) software for job postings, which digitizes the entire recruitment process—from creating a job posting through the application process to filling the position. The process begins when you submit your staffing request to the appropriate administrator in the Human Resources Department.
An exception applies to student assistants and assistants with a bachelor’s degree. A separate procedure currently applies in these cases.
More Information
In certain exceptional cases, a call for bids may be waived. For more information, click here.
Positions for student assistants (SHK) and research assistants with a bachelor’s degree (WHB) are also generally advertised. These hiring processes are not handled through SF. We are happy to provide you with a sample job posting for your reference. You can decide how to publish the announcement—for example, by posting it on the bulletin board. If you would like the job posting to appear on the university’s job portal, please send the corresponding template to your contact person on the support staff team in Department 4.3. The posting will then be published there after review.

Please check with the person responsible for approval in advance to determine whether funding is generally available for a position. Once initial consultations have taken place, please submit your staffing request via email to the appropriate person in the Human Resources Department. Your request should include the following information:
- Job title
- Name of the person submitting the request
- Name of the person approving the request (the person responsible for personnel approvals in your department)
- Source of funding (budget and/or third-party funds)
- Indication of whether the position is a temporary replacement
The person responsible for your case will ensure that a process is created in SF as soon as possible. You will then receive an email with information about the process, including a reference number. Of course, the HR administration team will be available to assist you with all HR-related matters throughout the entire process and will support you as needed.
Once the creation of a job posting has gone through all the necessary internal steps, the job posting will be published on all the platforms you specify. Every job posting is published on the University of Siegen’s job portal.
For employees of the University of Siegen, we currently offer both a comprehensive introductory training course and a more concise refresher course. You can find detailed information and dates in our internal training program.
Of course, the appropriate HR representative will be available to assist you with all matters related to employment law throughout the entire process.
If you have any technical questions about the program, please feel free to contact SF Support: support-karriere@uni-siegen.de
