Welcome to the Institute of Music
Music is present at the institute as a living practice and a multifaceted field of learning and research. Students and faculty explore the artistic-practical, pedagogical, and scholarly dimensions of music through various teaching and learning formats (ensembles, seminars, vocal and instrumental lessons, workshops, field trips, and much more). We explore music and music education from a historical and global perspective.
We teach and conduct research in the research groups on Composition and Music Theory in Post-Digital Educational Spaces, Music Education, Music Theory, Musicology/Sound Studies, and Popular Music and Gender Studies. In our teaching, we design teacher-training programs in music and participate in interdisciplinary bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
