For their work with the dementia advisory boards, Celina Sander and Stefanie Kremer were awarded the Josef and Luise Kraft Foundation’s Prize for Human Rights and Ethics in Medicine for Older Adults. The dementia advisory boards at the University of Siegen and the Alzheimer’s Association Siegen-Wittgenstein give people with dementia, as well as their caregivers and loved ones, the opportunity to actively contribute their experiences and perspectives to research and care—thereby strengthening their participation and self-determination.
