The University of Siegen offers student teachers, trainee teachers and teachers a wide range of opportunities for further training. These include subject-related day courses as well as additional qualifications or postgraduate courses. Some of these can already be attended during a teacher training course. Children's University Siegen
- Series of events organized by the University of Siegen in cooperation with the Siegener Zeitung. Every semester, four professors from the University of Siegen come up with exciting topics to arouse the curiosity of the participating children for scientific topics.

- LehrkräftePLUS is a qualification program for people with a refugee background who have already worked as a teacher in their home country and would like to continue their work in Germany.

Learning workshops and student labs at the University of Siegen
Brief description:
- The Lernwerkstatt Lehrkräftebildung is an institution of the Center for Teacher Training and Educational Research. It offers a place for encounters, exchange, advice and further training for student teachers of all subjects and school types. The offers are organized and partly carried out by student employees in the Lernwerkstatt. In addition, the Lernwerkstatt is well networked with all internal university institutions that are important for student teachers and also works with external speakers and cooperation partners.

- The OASE Lernwerkstatt is a university facility of the Primary School Pedagogy working group (Schools II). Its work focuses on the topics of school and teaching development in the sense of a new learning culture, which is to be implemented both in schools and at the university.

Brief description:
- The MatheWerkstatt is the university learning workshop of the Didactics of Mathematics at the University of Siegen. It invites various stakeholders (students, lecturers, researchers, teachers) to work on mathematics and mathematics didactics. In addition to curricular events, optional formats are regularly offered. During the designated opening hours, all interested persons are welcome to use the extensive range of materials and literature offered by the MathWorkshop.

Brief description:
- The FLEX offers a nature-oriented experimental field where pupils are given the opportunity to discover and understand natural phenomena. Outdoor science learning is intended, among other things, to promote environmental education and counteract the alienation of science and nature. The extracurricular learning site covers an area of around 6,500 m2 with a shed for laboratory equipment, a pond, flower beds, solar panels and much more.
- The Science Forum is another school laboratory for chemistry didactics. Pupils use the university premises to carry out experiments on various topics. Phenomenon-oriented experiments are designed to help learners understand scientific processes and increase their interest in STEM subjects.
Offers:
- Pupils can carry out nature-based experiments in FLEX on the following topics: "Plants and ingredients", "From grain to bread", "From sheep to wool" and "Bees and honey".
- In the Science Forum, pupils carry out experiments on various topics (e.g. "Burning and extinguishing", "Fire and flame", "Water").
- Student teachers gain practical experience through planning and supervision.

Brief description:
- The physics/geography didactics student laboratory regularly offers exciting hands-on mornings for primary school classes. In a combination of target group-oriented introductions to physical phenomena and practical experiments or craft projects, pupils discover the world of science in a playful way. The offer will be expanded again in the future - also for higher grades.
Offers:
- Observatory tour and telescope making: Introduction to astronomy with a visit to the observatory and making your own telescope.
- Rocket laboratory: Experiments with different types of rockets - water rockets, paper rockets and baking powder rockets.
- New programs in development: As part of teaching courses, student teachers are developing new school laboratory experiments that will expand the range on offer in the future. The focus is on experiments on education for sustainable development (ESD) and environmental physics.
